Alps mountains in France

This year has been a daunting test for many people in
the world. The limited life in this pandemic time has forced many of us to find
happiness in small things as well.

Fortunately, when the threat of a pandemic subsided, my husband and I were
lucky and at the end of June we had an opportunity to travel around the Alps in
France, in the vicinity of the village of Aussois. It was a big pleasure to
have great time painting in oils in pleinair. Here are some images painted
during the several pleinair sessions in the mountains.

“Memoires from Aussois village”, 2020 oil on canvas, 24 x 30 cm.

Quarantine

Time flies, it’s the second month of quarantine already… I want to present two charcoal drawings I have made during this time. I have always found inspiration in mountains and their beauty, harshness and magnificence, the play of light and shadows and the changing skies. The mountain motif has naturally surfaced inside me as I stay confined at home for the second month…

‘In the Mountains’ and ‘The Sky Over the Mountains’, both 35 x 50 cm in size, charcoal on heavy weight drawing paper
