Book project “Moonlight in the Ocean”

I want to share a post about previous graphic arts courses in Lodz Art
Academy (Poland), about my first handmade book.

„Moonlight in the Ocean“ book is created in 3 copies. I created the book according
to the sketch inspired by the powerful nature of the Canary Islands. I used the
linocut reductive technique. This is one of my first lino carvings. I found the
reductive technique very interesting and grateful for the developing of my
idea.

There was a lot of work, especially in the printing process. I use the
print press over 80 times to create those 3 copies … The last page of the
book is created by printing 7 different layers on the same sheet. The cover of
the book is created using minimalist relief printing technique – you can see
only moon shape on it.

Here are some bright moments from two weeks experience and the exhibition opening final show of a long-awaited summer course Pata in Lodz, Poland. Courses duration July 17-30.
